JOB DESCRIPTION
We are expanding our Embedded Software team to deliver optimized, reliable, and production-ready solutions for PerCV.ai. As an Embedded Algorithm Engineer, you will be responsible for taking signal processing, computer vision, and AI/ML algorithms from concept or prototype stage and implementing them efficiently on embedded hardware platforms (e.g. Raspberry Pi, Renesas, STM32). This is not a firmware or driver role — your focus will be on making algorithms work correctly and efficiently within the constraints of real hardware.
Required Skills
- Implement and optimize DSP, computer vision, and edge AI algorithms in C/C++ for embedded targets
- Port algorithms from Python or MATLAB prototypes to production-ready embedded code
- Analyze and resolve performance bottlenecks related to CPU cycles, memory, and numerical precision
- Debug, test, and validate software on target devices
- Handle fixed-point vs floating-point tradeoffs and ensure numerical stability on target hardware
- Collaborate with algorithm designers, AI/ML, and hardware teams to validate correctness on device
- Write clean, well-documented, testable code
- Document technical decisions and performance trade-offs

- 3–6 years of experience in embedded software development with a focus on algorithm implementation
- Strong proficiency in C/C++ with emphasis on performance and memory efficiency
- Hands-on experience implementing algorithms in at least one of: signal processing, computer vision, or ML inference on embedded platforms
- Familiarity with ARM-based architectures, cross-compilation, and debugging tools
- Ability to read and translate technical papers or algorithm specifications into working code
- Solid understanding of numerical methods, fixed-point arithmetic, and precision tradeoffs
- Experience with embedded targets such as Raspberry Pi, Renesas, STM32, or similar
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with edge AI frameworks e.g. TensorFlow Lite, ONNX Runtime, or OpenCV on embedded
- Proficiency in Python or MATLAB for algorithm prototyping and validation
- Background in DSP theory (filtering, FFT, sampling, etc.)
- Experience with model quantization or inference optimization for resource-constrained devices
- CI/CD practices for embedded environments
- Working knowledge of version control (Git)
- Experience with Embedded Linux (Yocto or similar) and/or RTOS (FreeRTOS, Zephyr)
