Irida Labs in partnership with Renesas Electronics, introduce the Smart Traffic Lights – a Vision AI software and hardware solution that runs at the edge (no network connection needed), that adjusts traffic lights in real-time based on pedestrian count.
This retrofit solution is built on the Renesas RA8P1 accelerated by the Arm Ethos-U55 NPU, providing high accuracy, energy efficiency, and seamless integration, making it ideal for city authorities aiming at optimizing traffic management in urban environments, or in city centers.

 When the set thresholds for people count and waiting time are reached, the system turns the traffic light green
